Limekiln State Park Description

Limekiln State Park can be found south of Andrew Molera State Park in the Californian Big Sur area. Some of the best features of the park are its spectacular vistas of Big Sur. Guests of Limekiln State Park can enjoy a longer stay at the park’s 24-site campground that accommodates not only tents but also RVs and trailers. Some basic facilities are available at the campgrounds – showers, restrooms, and a small store. The nature in the Limekiln State Park is represented mainly by some of the oldest redwood trees in Monterey County. Trails are not abundant in Limekiln State Park, but the half-mile long hiking trail takes the curious visitor through redwood forests, bridges over creeks, views of waterfall and cascades, to forgotten industrial monuments – limekilns. The Limekiln State Park keep some interesting history about the late 1800s when the area was a producer of lime, used in construction of buildings in across California.
