Emerald Bay State Park Description

Emerald Bay State Park is located on the southwestern shores of Lake Tahoe just south of D. L. Bliss State Park and near the border of California and Nevada. The park features Fannette Island, the only island in Lake Tahoe, and Vikingsholm, one of the finest examples of Scandinavian architecture found in the western hemisphere.

Scuba divers will find many boats, launches and barges below lake surface in Emerald Bay, which was designated as a underwater park in 1994. Emerald Bay State Park also provides a number of other water-related activities in the Emerald Bay of Lake Tahoe.  The park is open for swimming, boating and fishing. Visitors to Emerald Bay State Park have access to camping sites that can accommodate campers and trailers.  Day activities in the park include hiking, guided tours and picnicking.
